looking back, i actually think we got pretty value in that stackhouse trade. mckie played very well for the duration of that contract (you can't hold his later bloated contract against the trade), and ratliff played very well too, before being turned into Dikembe Mutombo who won defensive player of the year and then was a solid starter for several more years. overall, we got an above average starter at one of the hardest positions to fill, and an elite 6th man who could fill in at the 1, 2, or 3.

also, as prolific a scorer as Stackhouse was/kind of is, i think we can all agree that he was never equal to what we thought he would be when we drafted him.

Political joke: What team would John McCain play for?
The Dallas Mavericks

Greatest strength(s):
-Balanced scoring
-Jason Kidd, one of the true point guards in today's game!
-Mark Cuban, most passionate & coolest owner with a blog.
-American Airlines Center, one of most rockin' arenas
-Scoring, scoring, and more scoring
-Rebounding (guards, forwards, Kidd, etc)
-Rick Carlisle, preaches defense & fought adversity before
Greatest weakness(es):
-Off court distractions:
 1) Josh Howard's recent behavior
 2)Mark Cuban's bad boy image as an owner
-Texas Drought (offense)-- get lazy defensively, take bad shots offensively when it happens
-Defense
-Identity
-Better competition in the West, other Texas teams are better!
-Road problems
-Postseason chicken bone (see 2006 Finals & 2007 playoffs!!

(With that said, the Mavericks are going to be 4th in the Southwest Division, 7th in the West!!)

(On a side note, the Sixers will split the season against the Mavericks (1-1). Each team will win on their home floor. Interesting matchups: Iggy/Thad v.s Josh Howard , Miller v.s Kidd, & Brand v.s Nowitzki.)
