I think Thaddeus Young's game is similar to Tayshaun Prince's game. When they entered the league, they did not play a lot of minutes, they did not have a great handle with the ball, they did not shoot the jumper with regularity, they did not receive any set plays from their respective teams and happened to be there at the right time, they both have huge wingspans and play a "power forward" type of game, and they did surprise people when they did receive more playing time. Both emerged in the playoffs on national television and were praised!! Maybe Thad could be our Tayshaun Prince, which is an underrated compliment!!

With the four main starters, you should never count out the Detroit Pistons!!

Greatest strength(s):
-The starting four (Billups, Hamilton, Prince, Wallace)
-Makes a coach's life easier.
-Defense
-Palace of Auburn Hills (tough place to win and tough fans!)
   John Mason ,coolest PA announcer-- annoying to opponents but is music to the fans' ears
-Never get rattled!
-Best backcourt in the NBA (Billups & Hamilton)
-Great REGULAR Season Team
-When the "switch" is on!!
-Joe Dumars, one of today's best GMs

Greatest weakness(es):
-Bench production (last solid bench was 03-04-- Championship Season!!)
-Coaching consistency:
    Rick Carlisle (01-03)
    Larry Brown (03-05) including a Championship!!
    Flip Saunders (05-08)
    Michael Curry (08-??)
-COMPLACENCY (relying too much on "the switch")
   Imagine how many Championships they would have won?? It must be frustrating to those Pistons fans. Would like to hear what they have to say!!

The best trade Joe Dumars has ever made was trading Jerry Stackhouse to the Wizards for Richard Hamilton.

The next one is acquiring Rasheed Wallace in a 3 way deal.

Two Philadelphia natives are making the difference!!

Here is the Pistons' regular season record since acquiring Rasheed Wallace in 2004: 250-104 (.706)

Having Jason Maxiel in the starting lineup will be very interesting because he provides the energy that lineup sorely lacks, but they don't have the mid-range shooting from that spot with McDyess coming off the bench!!

Take a look at the <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/teams/stats?team=det&seasonYear=2004&season=2&sort=pts&order=true&avg=pg&split=0" rel="nofollow">03-04 Pistons bench</a> that won the Championship
Notable names include: Corliss Williamson, Mehmet Okur, Mike James, & Lidsey Hunter.

The Pistons don't want to admit it, but they truly miss Ben Wallace and Larry Brown. It truly was about playing the right way!! Ben Wallace just gave the Pistons and their fans that extra energy for EVERY possession. Now the Pistons have been sleeping in some possessions since winning the Championship in 03-04.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bcYj7K49J8" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bcYj7K49J8</a>

Key matchups for the Pistons (both regular and postseason):

(v.s Sixers). They went (2-2) last season against the Sixers. The Pistons want to prove to people that the Sixers forcing six games against them was a FLUKE!! I'm not sure that, but with Elton Brand on the team, they better be careful what they say-- we could force 7 maybe!!

(v.s Cavaliers): They went (3-1) last season against the Cavs. A fight for the Central Division. Some people think the Pistons will slip greatly in the standings. This series could be a big indication if that were the case!! Not to mention a little grudge factor in the 2007 Playoffs!!

(v.s Celtics) This is the BIG matchup of two Eastern Titans!! Last season, they were (1-2) against the Celtics in the regular season. Of course, they were ousted by the C's in 6 games, including two squandered at the Palace. Can they beat the Celtics not just the regular seson, but the postseason? My answer, I DON'T THINK SO!! If Kevin Garnett smothers Rasheed Wallace defensively and outscores him and if Paul Pierce does the same to Tayshaun Prince, the Pistons will lose another series!!

(With that said, the Pistons are going to be 1st in the Central Division, 2nd in the East. Just as long as the starting four is intact!!)

(On a side note, the Sixers will split the season with the Pistons (2-2). Both will win one at home and one on the road. Based on the way the preseasons have been thus far, Brand and Young could help relieve some pressure on Iggy, but that does not let him off the hook in terms of working on that jump shot against defensive pressure. It will be interesting to see how Elton Brand will play when the Pistons slow the tempo down to a grinding halt. We'll have to wait and see!!)
