Alright, since we have such a great, and growing NBA community here and since Dannie and I are both very anxious for the season to get here (as evidenced by his 35,000 word dissertation on what position ‘Dre should play) we are going to do a team-by-team NBA preview similar to the MLB Preview I did back in March. It’s going to start this Friday (with the Phoenix Suns) and we will be doing 3-4 teams a week until opening night, October 28th.
Here how it is going to work. Each preview will have the same format. Dannie will be writing about the teams’ Biggest Strength and Biggest Weakness. I will be writing about Their Thaddeus, which will be the most exciting player on their team 22 or under, and Philly Connection, which is exactly what it sounds like. We will also have a Key Player section that I will be writing for the Western teams, and Dannie for the Eastern teams.
At the bottom of each post, we will each have our predicted finish for the team (division, conference and league-wide) as well as a short paragraph with some final thoughts and analysis so you sports bettors can probably use it to round out your online betting wagers. There will also be little things like projected starting-5, last year’s record, etc… Essentially you’ll get everything you need to know. We also encourage that you share your own predictions in the comments’ field.
This page here will serve as a home page where you can navigate easily between teams. We will provide a link here at the start of each post.

Why start with the Phoenix Suns first? Let us start with the resurging Atlantic Division and with the Defending Champion Boston Celtics. The NBA season begins in Boston for the national viewers. Then we work our way through to the West ending in the Northwest Division with the Utah Jazz, as based on the 30 team layout as presented by Dannie and Pete. This is going to be fun!!!
Remember we are judging each team based on THIS upcoming season only!!! Don’t mention anything about a bright upside– only in the miscellaneous section you can do so!!
1)Rank each team by:
-where they stand in their division
-where they stand in their conference
2)Depth chart (Projected starters + Projected bench
3)Who will improve?
4)Who will slide a bit?
5)Who to watch out for?
6)Offseason Transactions (What pieces were added? subtracted?)
7)Coach: Safe or not safe? To what degree?
8)Strengths
9)Weaknesses
10) Miscellaneous
what you have the sixers in 4th in the Atlantic?! are you crazy? just kidding, the post sounds fun
Okie City Thunder, for the city’s geographic location in
“Thunder Alley” and the nickname’s reverberant signal of an imposing threat (and, perhaps, in the hope of generating another “Chocolate Thunder” by whom to regale fans with shattered backboards, brute strength, feathery touch and comic persona).
Rob, slow down big fella. Everything will be taken care of.
Sorry Dannie!! I’m excited–excited Dannie!! Kind of like a freaked out George Costanza. LOL
Houston Rockets, come on!
