What a Sunday!

Steelers Eagles Football

This time of year can be stressful for Philadelphia fans. The Eagles are starting off their season, and every one of their games is an event. Meanwhile, the Phillies for the last several years have been involved in the playoff race until the very end. Today, both teams suited up for 4:00pm starts, leaving Philly fans switching back and forth, or maybe bringing out another TV from the other room. No matter what people did, we're all happy tonight. I'll kick off the week with some quick thoughts … [Read more...]

Phils Enter Terrifying Series With The Marlins

22myers1600

I don't have a lot of time, but I wanted to get a post up about this series so people could talk about it throughout the weekend. I'll do this in bullet point form. - This series terrifies me, as shown in the title. Why? Because the Marlins are red-hot, young, scrappy, hitting out of their minds, playing at home and still in the playoff hunt. As good as we are playing, my goal for this series is simply to not get swept. - If we win 1 of 3, we are guaranteed that we will be at least … [Read more...]

Ryan Howard Bashing His Way into MVP Discussion

ryan-howard

Usually, a guy that has been atop the HR and RBI lists for much of the year is a lock to be in the MVP discussion. However, that hasn't been the case with Ryan Howard. His low batting average, high strikeouts and sub-par defense have kept his name out of most MVP talk. But his wild September (how about a .917 SLG%) has changed all that. Let there be no debate, we are back in first place because of Ryan Howard. His incredible go-ahead clutch HR off of a very tough LHP last night catapulted him to … [Read more...]

Eagles Blow One in Dallas – But Here’s Some Positive

Eagles vs. Cowgirls

Very exciting offensive game that ended up sucking for Eagles fans in the end! I am sure there will be plenty of coverage and whining about all the things the Birds didn't do well like... The defensive line getting man-handled most of the game and not getting enough consistent pressure on Romo. DeSean Jackson committing his first rookie mistake tossing a sure touchdown one step before the goal line.  A lot of what I've heard and read so far this morning from fans and talking heads … [Read more...]

Phillies Ramblings, Wild Card Lead Edition

Brewers Phillies Baseball

I'm writing this while watching the 2nd game of the doubleheader, so I'll probably interject some random stuff about it while I'm going. - This type of late season surge is both exciting and frustrating for Phillies fans. It's obviously exciting because every game matters and has a playoff atmosphere, and the Phillies are winning. However, it's extremely frustrating because it shows us just how good this team can be, which makes the last 3 months of mediocre baseball even more annoying. As … [Read more...]
