Guys, I am at the game again so use this post as an open thread to discuss game 2 against the Knicks. I will write something up when I get home. Definitely looking for the Sixers to shoot the ball better against some softer defense. And hopefully see less confusion on offense. One thing is for sure, the transition offense will be there tonight. Should be high scoring. Game Notes The Sixers did what they are supposed to do, beat the crap out of bad teams. A 116-87 victory of the Knicks … [Read more...]
Phillies Victory Ends Curse on City, Me

It was getting to the point where I thought it would never happen. It was an absolute truth. A Philadelphia team winning a championship was no more likely than me waking up tomorrow to find that the rules of gravity no longer applied. This sense of inevitable failure and impending doom was so entrenched in my psyche that when Brad Lidge began to throw his final disappearing slider of the season, all I was thinking was "he's going to get a hit, tie the game, and we are going to have to go back … [Read more...]
PHILLIES WIN THE WORLD SERIES! – NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

First championship since I was 2-years-old in 1983. Get pumped! I just got back from South Philly celebrating the Phillies World Series win! I was at the Sixers game and watched the remainder of the Phillies game in the AT&T Pavilion with hundreds of diehard Philly fans; it was freakin' unbelievable. The Sixers lost, but by the time the first pitch was thrown to start the bottom of the 6th inning, I had completely forgetten I was just at the Sixers' home opener. It's amazing how … [Read more...]
Sixers Lose Home Opener to Toronto
I am heading to the game tonight (Section 214, Row 7, Seats 1&2) so I probably won't post anything until late considering I will also be staying at the Wachovia Center to watch the Phillies finish off the Rays. But when I get home, I will fill out this post with game notes. Until then feel free to get the conversation started in the comments. Sixers first game - GET PUMPED! Ok lets talk a little Sixers since they did play some basketball tonight as well. Here are some quick game … [Read more...]

You’ve Got To Be Kidding Me
Well, I guess the top of the 6th was playable, but the bottom of the 6th wasn't. I guess the huge puddles weren't any indication of unfair playing conditions. I didn't want to win the World Series in a shortened game, but I don't want to lose it that way either. Hamels is completely out of the equation for the rest of the series. We had all the odds in our favor, and we get a 5 1/2 inning game that eliminates our best pitcher, kills our momentum, and puts it all in a 3 1/2 inning, fake … [Read more...]
27 Outs Left. But Don’t Set Up The Parade Route Yet…

27 outs. That's all that stands between the Phillies and the 2nd World Championship in their history, and it's all that stands between the city of Philadelphia and our first championship in 25 years. I'm not sure how I will be expected to sleep tonight or work tomorrow. The Phillies were at their best tonight, relentlessly pounding the opponent's pitchers while getting a quality start from their starter and shut-down performance from their bullpen. This series is NOT over, by any means. The … [Read more...]
Sixers Preseason: Top 3 Things You Should Care About

The preseason is finally over (thank god), and all waiting is over. If you're like me, Wednesday's first game can not come quick enough. All the anticipation and excitement of the off-season will start to come to fruition. I am pumped! As you've noticed I didn't cover the preseason here. Many other good Sixers blogs, as well as Philly.com, did a good job of that. But here is why I didn't - I personally don't think it matters all that much in the grand scheme of things, and I think people … [Read more...]
