The Sixers are not a good team and just need to win a game to stop the bleeding.  They are on their 2nd three-game losing streak in the first 16 games of the season. This will be the shortest after-game post because the Sixers don't deserve my effort right now after what I just watched and the effort they gave. Sixers vs. Boston Game Notes Elton Brand played very well with 18 points, 8 boards and no turnovers in 31 minutes. Not long after the Sixers signed Elton Brand all the Sixers vs. Celtics rivalry talk started up.  Boston now atop the league as the defending NBA champion after years of bad basketball.  The Sixers late surge last season pushing the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the playoffs.  The signing of Elton Brand, supposedly the "missing piece," the rivalry will be renewed - on paper. Great game, terrible ending for the Sixers.  I've been to most of the home games and this was by far the most entertaining and exciting Sixers game so far this season.  They game out slow, gradually picked up the energy, dominated in the third quarter to take the lead, stayed with the Magic throughout the second half and came up 2 points short.  Good effort that simply wasn't good enough to earn the "W." Sixers will be getting some pre-thanksgiving hoops in tonight against the Orlando Magic in a game I think they NEED to win. Of the good teams the Sixers will face over the next 6 games the Magic are probably the least scary (you can probably make the argument for Detroit as well). Quick pre-game post from me and you guys will get a different perspective with Pete taking care of the post game tonight. The Charlotte Bobcats are not very good and missing Jason Richardson.  I guess we should expect the Sixers to win this game pretty easily on the road in the second part of a back-to-back.  The Bobcats are starting two point guards so the Sixers have a huge size advantage which should lead to domination on the boards again.  Expect to see Miller posting up D.J.
