Dannie nailed it when he said they are missing frontcourt defense. boozer isn’t just a weak defender, he’s one of the worst defensive PFs in the league. my buddy, who is an avid jazz fan (the only one i have ever met), said he routinely breaks plays on offense as well, and is pretty much despised in the locker room. the sooner they get rid of him the better.

Greatest strength(s):
-Execution on offense
-Stockton to Malone Resurrected? (For how long?)

-Energy Solutions Arena (truly lives up to the name!!)
-Physical defense
-Jerry Sloan, longest tenure coach in major leagues sports
-Strong bench
Greatest weakness(es):
-Foul prone team (Costs them a lot of games)
-No Derek Fisher (clutch shooting, leadership, experience)
-Not many significant additions
-Road woes
-Individual defense
-Perimeter shooting(especially clutch shooting)
-Still not going to beat the Lakers

The Jazz need someone to relieve the scoring duties of Derron Williams and handle more of the point guard duties. A proper SG is certainly needed, maybe at the trade deadline.

I think the Jazz will 3rd in the Northwest Division, 7th in the West.

(On a side note, the Sixers will split the season (1-1) with the Jazz with each winning on their respective home floors. The Jazz are very mediocre on the road and Sixers fans will get their team excited and ready!! The Sixers will lose one at Energy Solutions Arena, where the Jazz are unbelievable there. I don’t know if the games are rigged there or not, but that is impressive!! Luckily with Elton Brand, we have someone who can counteract with Carlos Boozer, a fun matchup of the Dukies.)

Can’t argue there, jjg, as gaunt is certainly an appropriate description of Kirilenko.

To me, he looks like Ivan Drago from Rocky IV, if he were infected with a tapeworm.

Can’t knock him though, as he is a productive player across the board, which makes him valuable in fantasy leagues.

Kirilenko always looks like he could use a good meal or two. Must have a wooden leg. Could account for ineffective cortisone shots.

Kirilenko battled ankle problems all season which probably led to his down year. I believe he got cortisone shots on three different occasions, missing some time throughout that stretch of the season as he tried to play through it. Then, when the cortisone proved to be ineffective, he finally ended up having ankle surgery and subsequently missing another three or four weeks before coming back for the last month or so of the regular season.

I only know all this because I had Kirilenko on my fantasy team last year. That reminds me, are you guys planning on doing the fantasy league again this season?
