What a relief! Relief for what? To come here and read some of these comments from draft night and beyond. Especially the one's by the moderators of this site pertaining to individuals being able to voice their opinions as fans. I mean, we all feel we have a certain level of ownership in our favorite teams. That is the beauty that makes and defines us as fans!

I attempted to voice my discerning eye opinions over at DepressedFan.com, but was wrongfully ridiculed and regarded as an inferior. Pretty unbelieveable that if you don't fall in line with the masses (or moderator in this case), you are so easily dismissed.

But it truly is refreshing to see that there is an all emcompassing forum for a litany of ideas and opinions of my beloved Sixers. And to have the kings of the throne be welcoming of differing points of view and, most importantly in my case, objectiveness concerning the decisions this organization chooses to make.

On a side note: Dave T - I could have thought we were one and the same after reading your comments on this article. Glad to know I'm not alone on the feelings and emotions of this pick.

you can't build for the present and the future at the same time. i honestly have no idea what this team's plan is, or if they even have one.

I know this is getting old but couldn't resist.

Yes Lawson may be 6 ft even or under, but I would rather have someone who is smaller and much stronger physically than someone who is a few inches taller and bone thin, a la Maynor. I would certainly rather have someone with a resume like Ty's, than a project, but we have what we have. Hopefully it works well.

You said it Dave T! We are different from other Sixer Forums. We love our team, but are critical at the same time! We have expressed our frustrations once in a while, but we all gather ourselves and see things more clearly. Other forums would be solely consumed with the bitterness and have become Debbie Downers. We are open to everyone's opinions, but not through extreme hatred. We are Reclinergms and we appreciate each other. We are inclinced to listen to one another. We do not want any "bitter seeds" to sour our wonderful Forum. We are passionate, yet reasonable fans! And by darn it, we are Reclinergms!

thats a good point. i agree that hes always played soundly on the defensive end. I guess what im saying is that im thinking he'll start over-compensating in the nba because of his stature. i wish he wasnt playing in denver behind billups so we could see more of him this season.

on a side note: no matter how much people are pissed at the sixers for passing on ty...at least we dont have the minnesota GM running the sixers. their draft was comical. it did not make a lick of sense and if i was a timberwolves season ticket holder, id have canceled them last night.

Brendon...I actually agree with your eyesight test. I'd say he might be a tad shorter then 6'0 too. But, unlike Iverson, he's not just a gambling quick defensive guard.

I mean...he is a LOCK DOWN individual on ball defender. Youve certainly got a great point in that he may have trouble handling bigger guards...as a Jameer Nelson has...but Lawson's footwork on the defensive end is so good, and he's so great at keeping himself between man and ball and not letting his man get an open drive to the hoop...this is why I think he'll be fine in the NBA. He doesn't run around like a chicken with his head cut off trying to make steals...he plays fundamentally sound, traditional, old school great defense.

Dave T - understood. i did come in talking shit and did not know the scope of the website. again, i apologize and any grief or shit i take over this will be well desvered.

as to your point about lawson. i agree - to a point. again, i loved him this year. ill say two things about him. first - his height. i dont buy that he is 6'0''. im going on the eye test here. yes, i know thats as un-scientific as it gets, but the guy just flat out looks small too me. second, while he was a great all around player in college, i just dont see him being able to handle the bigger guards in the nba. granted, he may get you a few iverson-esque steals a game (meaning he may gamble a few other times and miss, thus giving the opposition a golden opportunity).

one more point to explain why i came in acting the way i did. i read the papers, and tend to read comments below articles on philly.com. im so damn sick of everyone trashing the sixers just too trash them. when i saw this website last night, i assumed it was the same thing. i clearly assumed wrong.
