Sixers Play the Worst Offensive Quarter of Basketball I Have Ever Seen, Lose to the Nets

Elton Brand defends Brook Lopez

That question will be answered closer to game time when Samuel Dalembert's availability will be determined.  Chances are Sam won't play even though he has recovered from injuries and dealt with injuries well in the past.  The next question is will Elton Brand even play?  This would be the second game of a back-to-back for the first time since he returned to action, and it is not yet known whether the doctors think him playing is a good idea.  I am thinking he will considering Dalembert's … [Read more...]

Sixers Beat Wizards in Unimpressive Fashion

Let's keep this short and direct since I have a cocktail party to attend (will be watching the game whole time!). The Washington Wizards flat out stink.  That is about the only thing they do well.  They are: 9-36 worst record in the NBA 26th in scoring 26th in offensive efficiency 30th in 3PT% 25th in FG% 20th in FT% 28th in defensive efficiency giving up 112 points per 100 possessions 27th in FG% defense 23rd in rebounding differential 25th in blocks I think you … [Read more...]

Sixers Rumors: Follow Up On Brand and Some Andre Miller Nonsense

Two days ago I wrote a post about Elton Brand being available according to a Chad Ford chat.  A few things have happened since then. The first of which is Phil Jasner doing his best to shoot down a Brand rumor. My comment: Calm down. While Sixers' president/general manager Ed Stefanski said he does not comment on rumors, a source familiar with the Sixers' situation said that Ford's premise is incorrect, that Stefanski had not contacted anyone about Brand, that the chat session comment had … [Read more...]

Sixers Get Big Win Over the Rockets on the Road

Cool out I got this

The Sixers took care of the Rockets at the Wachovia center in the beginning of January.  But that was against a Houston team without Ron Artest or Shane Battier and a visibly hurt Tracy McGrady.  Tonight will be different with all those guys expected to play tonight. The Sixers are coming off a very ugly loss at the hands of Chris Paul and the Hornets where they were extremely careless with the ball turning it over 21 times.  They will face a much better defensive foe in the Rockets who … [Read more...]

76ers Rumors: Elton Brand AVAILABLE For Trade

Shawn Marion a Sixer?

I got to work today and the immediate conversation with Pete went like this... Pete: "Soooo..... Elton Brand?" Dannie: I saw one low post play and he looked horrible. Pete: He IS horrible. I don't get it. Dannie: The more I watch the more I don't think his body is right.  He looks like he knows what he wants to do but his body just can't do it.  This year might be a wash although I hope not.  He could get back to it next season after fully healing and regaining his bounce.  Right … [Read more...]

Chris Paul Dominates the Sixers with Some Help From Peja

This game is not the Sixers vs. Hornets.  It's really Sixers vs. Chris Paul.  Tyson Chandler is sidelined with a sprained ankle and more importantly David West is a scratch with back spasms.  Not to mention back up center Hilton Armstrong has been battling some knee tendinitis and may play but won't be 100%.  So the likely starting line up for New Orleans will be: Chris Paul Peja Stojakovic Rasual Butler Sean Marks Melvin Ely I provided links to the front court players you may … [Read more...]

Sixers Sunday Conversation

Moses Malone authentic home uniform

They Are Coming Back First order of business is to let everyone know our friend over at Sixers 4 Guidos had a petition going for a while trying to bring back the old Sixers uniforms. I know I was in complete support of that among many others.  Well it appears his efforts have come to fruition.  He sent me an email this week informing me that... Kate Price, Sixers' Vice President of Business Operations, told yesterday to a group of season ticket holders in a fan forum that the franchise will … [Read more...]
