Sixers Still Can’t Shoot, Drop Third Straight in Loss to the Heat

Finally another Sixers game.  I know as a player I wanted to get back on the court ASAP after a loss, not to mention two straight.  Biggest question is will Andre Miller play?  He has said he will, Lou Williams believes he will and given his track record I see no reason to think otherwise. But let's think for a moment.  If he doesn't who would you start in his place?  Do you go big and insert Marreese Speights and have Willie and Iguodala share point guard duties?  Start the erratic … [Read more...]

NBA Trade Deadline Day – Last Chance to Make Your Best Pitch

Chances are the Sixers will stand pat.  I think there are just too many questions about this roster, team direction, overall philosophy and a lot of question as to what tradeable assets they really have to offer. Dalembert could help another team defensively, but his contract is prohibitive. No one knows if Elton Brand can return to form or will be Cris Webber 2.0. I know there are people that hate when anyone compares the two, but the situation is what it is.  We brought in a big that … [Read more...]

Sixers Can’t Shoot, Lose Andre Miller in Loss to Denver

This will be very short as I am literally writing this on my iPhone in the car on the way to the game. Last game v. Danver was by far the worse loss of the season for me. I was off-the-wall furious after they blew that one. And that lost was to a Carmelo-less Denver squad. That us why I am not very optimistic going into this one. Melo has been playing pissed off having not made the All-star team. Furthermore I think the Nuggets have been quietly playing fantastic ball out West. The Sixers … [Read more...]

Sixers vs. Pacers: Road to the 4th Seed Starts Tonight

I am pretty pissed because I won't be able to watch this game live.  I have two back-to-back basketball games so I am hoping I can watch the second airing late tonight.  So that means there needs to be A TON OF COMMENTS tonight about the game because the recap and evaluation of the game will be on you guys. The first three games in this match up have been about as close as they come with the Sixers taking 2. I really don't see why this game would be any different.  In fact the Sixers are … [Read more...]

Phillies Spring Training Quick Hits

Spring Training is underway for the Champs, and as always, there is no shortage of stories, I'll bullet point the most important stuff I'm reading for discussion... Howard loses 20 lbs, Myers loses 30 lbs. It's certainly good to see that these guys didn't let a championship get to their head and they are looking to improve themselves this year. This doesn't show me much except where their heads are, who knows if the actual performance will actually change, but it's promising.  Utley … [Read more...]

Sunday Conversation: NBA All-Star Weekend Edition

Thaddeus Young in the Rookie Challenge

Last year at this time I wrote a post about my dissatisfaction with the complete lack of Sixers representation in All-Star weekend. Well this year I thought about doing the same thing, but we actually had Thad playing in the Rookie Challenge so I decided against it. Rookie Challenge Thad finished the game with 13 points (tied with Jeff Green as the second leading scorer) on 6-7 shooting, 4 boards, 1 nice alley oop assist, 1 steal, 3 turnovers and hit a three.  To say the least, Thad looked  … [Read more...]
