Sixers vs. Magic Playoff Series: Game 6

It seems like everyone is terrified, worried, scared or whatever other descriptive word you want to use for general concern about this game.  I on the other hand am not.  I am confident this is a win and I wouldn't want to go into this game any other way.  I feel this we because it should be a win considering the circumstances.  Judging the Sixers by their play in this series I think a win should be the expectation and sooner or later we need to start holding this team to a higher … [Read more...]

Phils keep Nats down, Take 2 of 3

utley

The Phillies did what they were supposed to do, and beat a lesser team 2 out of 3 at home. Granted, they needed some more late game dramatics to do so, but the bottom line is all that matters. 2009: 11-9 2008: 10-10 2007: 9-11 Player of the Series: Raul Ibanez (6 for 10, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 3 BB, 4 R) Goat of the Series: Joe Blanton (1 GS, 4.1 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 3 HR, 3 BB) The Good News: We have made 3 errors as a team, the next best team in the MLB has more than double that (Houston, … [Read more...]

Pivotal Game Lost, Still Hope

Part of the hope is that Howard get suspended for his stupidity (should have been an automatic ejection but refs mess up sometimes you deal with that).  That cheap shot wasn't and should not be mistaken for passion, toughness or killer instinct.  It was nothing more than a punk ass move by a big ass, albeit it very talented - punk. People that really know me as an athlete know I am all about beating the best and beating teams who are at full strength.  I don't wish injury on anyone nor do … [Read more...]

ReclinerGM’s Eagles 2009 Draft Review

maclin-mccoy

8 picks, 1 veteran, 6 trades and 18 draft picks changing hands later, the Eagles have their 2009 draft class. Going into the draft, I predicted that the Eagles would follow their previous trend of not picking for current needs, but for future needs. I couldn't be happier that I was wrong. I'll go through pick-by-pick and say my thoughts on the pick, and also try to iron out all the deals that were made on draft day. The bolded picks are the ones they went into the draft with (prior to the … [Read more...]

Sixers vs. Magic Playoff Series: Game 5

Game 4: Back breaking loss or minor road block? That is the question our Sixers will start or completely answer tonight in game 5.  What do I mean by "start or completely answer?" Imagine it's 11:00 p.m. tonight and you are reflecting on one of three scenarios: The Sixers win - by any margin. The Sixers lose - in a rout The Sixers lose a close one typical of how the series has been played. How would your outlook for the remainder of the series be? For me... If the Sixers … [Read more...]

That Was a Tough One

Sixers Game 4 Made Shots

Ugh that was a tough loss.  This is clearly the series of game winners and Orlando got theirs last night.  2-2 going back to Orlando is not ideal but it means nothing more than we have to win a 3 game series without home court.  Doable! Analyzing Game 4 Using the 6 Keys Put up more shot attempts. Sixers: 80 Magic: 70 Plus 10 Force turnovers and take care of the ball yourself. Sixers: 10 Magic: 11 Minus 1 Control the boards with a team approach. Sixers: … [Read more...]

Eagles Post-Draft Depth Chart

eagles-depth

I'll have my draft review up sometime this week (it's up, right here), but here is what the Eagles depth chart looks like right now for the 2009-10 season. New arrivals are shaded green. Feel free to talk about the draft and off-season as a whole here until I get the review up. … [Read more...]

Filet o’ Fish: Phils sweep Marlins

filetofish

Sorry. It's very hard not to use cheezy fish related references when we beat the Marlins. More importantly, we swept the team with the best record in the MLB, on the road. Granted, they were just coming off getting swept by the Pirates, but it was a welcome sight nonetheless.  2009: 9-8 2008: 8-9 2007: 6-11 Player of the Series: Shane Victorino (5 for 15, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 1 SB) Goat of the Series:  N/A  The Good News: We got a quality start! We got a quality start! … [Read more...]

Sixers vs. Magic Playoff Series: Game 4

This will be very short. The winning formula looks to be established.  Play Dwight Howard straight up, rush out on their shooters and force them off the line and then stay in the Magic's perimeter players bubble at all times.  So far the Magic haven't proved they can score consistently in the mid-range area or finish consistently at the rim when contested.  Defensively is all about effort and the Sixers have given more so far in this series. One thing that hasn't really been said is … [Read more...]
