Eagles Try To Lose, But Edge Broncos

eagles broncos

This is a tough game to write about, because it really was like 2 completely different games. The Eagles dominated the first half 20-7, and then laid an egg in the second half 10-20, while blowing a 17-point lead. In the end though, it was a victory over a playoff-caliber team and puts the Eagles at 11-4 and sets up the big showdown in Dallas next weekend (more on that later). Here are my thoughts on the Eagles 6th straight win: Obviously the main thing on everyone's mind was B-Dawk. … [Read more...]

Another Day, Another Sixers Loss

Sixers got their asses kicked against last night by the Jazz.  They basically quit in the 4th quarter.  And EVERYONE, players, coaches and management all look and sound completely lost as to what the hell is going on.  Doesn't get any easier tomorrow either. Is there any chance the light bulb with turn on for anyone in this franchise this season? The Players At what point do you give up on these players and start cleaning house? I personally don't think we at all have the raw talent, … [Read more...]

Sixers vs. Jazz: The Beginning of the End for Eddie Jordan?

Let me set the stage real quick. Eddie Jordan's first season he has the team at 7-21.  They were 12-16 after 28 games last season. 4.5 games out of of the 8th playoff spot. 5 more games on the road against tough opposition. Elton Brand calling out teammates and questioning the way Jordan has been coaching. Players still talking about thinking too much on offense because of Jordan's fluff offense (by the way I am now fully convinced Ed Stefanski is a complete dope and was fooled … [Read more...]

Phillies Rumors: Is Baez The Mystery Man?

After a post earlier in the day about the team's interest in Fernando Rodney and Mike MacDougal, CSNPhilly is now reporting that the Phillies actually have an agreement in place with a reliever, but won't divulge until he takes his physical after the holidays. A different source told them that the recent focus has been on Danys Baez, formerly of the Orioles. So - they put 2 and 2 together and assumed that Baez is the signed pitcher, assuming a pitcher is actually signed. So nothing is … [Read more...]

Phillies Rumors: Rodney, MacDougal on Radar

A couple notes on our reliever search. As it stands, our bullpen currently stacks up like this after we non-tendered Clay Condrey and have yet to re-sign Chan Ho Park or Scott Eyre... Locks: CL - Brad Lidge SU - Ryan Madson LHP - J.C. Romero RHP - Chad Durbin Options: LHP - Antonio Bastardo RHP - Scott Mathieson LHP - Sergio Escalona LHP - Mike Zagurski RHP - Scott Herndon (Rule 5 draft pick) We will likely keep 7 pitchers in the bullpen, so if the season started right … [Read more...]

Sixers vs. Wizards: Start of a Six Game Road Trip

7-20 is the record. 6 straight road games is the upcoming schedule. Here are the opponents: Wizards Jazz Trailblazers Kings Clippers Nuggets What do you guys think the Sixers record will be after this stretch? We have a weaker record than all those teams.  Tonight's game might actually be the easiest of the 6 and going into this game the Sixers will be an underdog. Lou is back in the starting line-up with Jrue.  Willie goes back to the bench and Elton remains on … [Read more...]

Eagles Handle 49ers, Clinch Playoff Spot

mcnabb

The Eagles clinched their 8th playoff appearance in the Andy Reid/Donovan McNabb era with a 27-13 win over the 49ers yesterday. DeSean Jackson starred again catching 6 balls for 140 yards and 1 TD. The defense also improved upon their dreadful performance last week, forcing 4 turnovers and bailing out the offense on more than one occasion. With 5 straight wins, the Eagles are not only in the driver's seat in the division, but after a Vikings loss to the lowly Panthers, we have a chance at a … [Read more...]

Sixers vs. Clippers: Going for Two in a Row

Two in a row for the second time in 26 games.  That's rough. Both teams are in the second game of a back-to-back.  The difference we are coming off an emotional win over the Celtics while the Clippers are coming off a disappointing loss to the Knicks. Which team will be more motivated? Once again the Sixers face a big team and the contributions of Speights and Brand will be much needed to avoid a disappointing loss. This is  your game thread.  I should be around commenting … [Read more...]

FYI: Snow Moves Eagles to 4pm

The huge snow storm that has mostly everyone stuck in their house today has forced the Eagles to move their game from 1pm to 4pm tomorrow. I didn't realize this type of thing could really happen this close to gametime. The snow is supposed to end by tomorrow morning, so my guess this is more about giving people a chance to actually get to the game than anything else. I didn't have a chance to do an in-depth preview due to all the Roy Halladay craziness this week, but this is obviously a … [Read more...]

Sixers Finally Convert a Close Game into a Big Win

Big win!  Not because the game meant something more than 1 regular season win.  But because it was on the road against a winning team (the best team) and this team hasn't done that at all this season. I waited for a while before I decided to write something on this game because immediately after it was over I had a feeling of "so what."  I was happy they won, but I didn't have a feeling of jubilation that my team beat the best team in the NBA. I just want to talk about three … [Read more...]
