2009-10 NBA Season Preview

by Dannie & Pete

nba preview

It’s been a slow and quiet summer here for basketball.  Time to ramp it up.

With so much player movement, rookies to watch and of course our unpredictable Sixers,  Pete and I are anxious for the season to get here.   So we are going to do our now annual team-by-team NBA season preview.

We’ll start Thursday (with the Denver Nuggets) and hit 3-4 teams a week until opening night, October 27th (28th for the Sixers).

Here how it’s going to work.

Each NBA preview will have the same format:

  • Biggest Strength – by Dannie
  • Biggest Weakness – by Dannie
  • Key Player – Dannie
  • Biggest Question – by Pete
  • Best Individual Season of All-Time – by Pete
  • Season Outlook – by Dannie & Pete

The season outlook will have our predicted finish for the team (division, conference and league-wide) as well as a short paragraph with some final thoughts.

We will also have each team’s 2009 record, projected starting-5 and key reserves.

Essentially you’ll get everything you need to know to have a good debate.  So we encourage you to share your own predictions and thoughts in the comments’ section.

This page will serve as the central location for all previews so you can easily navigate between teams.

Pete, where’s the college football preview?  For being a Notre Dame guy, you sure don’t give too many perspectives on the Irish and their sunny outlook this season.  I guess you don’t want to turn off the readers!

ha – no I don’t want to turn off the readers. I’ve written a couple ND articles in the past, but have no time to go full bore into it now.

Notre Dame SHOULD win 10 games this season before they reach a bowl. They will likely win 9, lose the bowl, fire Charlie, and reset the whole program – causing me to stick my face on a hot stove.

This is the first year all the players will be Weis’ recruits. This usually isn’t a big deal, but Willingham was such a horrible recruiter, it was. When we went 3-9, all the talent was freshman, last year at 7-6, the talent was sophomores and freshman, this year, finally we have upper class talent with the JRs, Sos and Fr all talented (Weis’ first class, the seniors, are so-so). Here’s a post I wrote on this awhile ago. For reference, those HS Seniors are now Sophomores.
