And by should be I mean, if it's not I will be somewhat disappointed. While I don't think the Sixers will fire Eddie Jordan before the season is over, racking up embarrassing loses still does help the cause. The next four games provide ample opportunity for Eddie Jordan cluelessness to be center stage against: the Lakers, Magic, Hawks and Celtics. As always we are looking at good match-ups. The obvious: Kobe vs. Iguodala. The problem: I am not sure we will see that match-up too often … [Read more...]
Sixers vs. Suns Game Thread
The Sixers won last night. Meh. I do give them credit for trying really hard to blow a 24 pt lead though. We have the Suns tonight and Nash could be back in action for the home game. As always it's all about the point guard match-up for me. Jrue's been up against some young guns, now he gets the crafty veteran. One thing he absolutely can't do is lose track of Nash off the ball because he will get scorched. I guess all the Amare lovers can gaze at what could have been. I … [Read more...]

Basic Info Age: 22 Height/Weight: 6'5'', 205 lbs Hometown: Zephyrhills, FL How Acquired: 20th round of 2006 draft Stats Brown has shown significant improvement every year in the minors. In 2008, he refined his eye and did a very good job of drawing walks and getting on base. In 2009, he began to realize his power potential, improving his slugging from .417 to .504 despite jumping up several levels. While his stats aren't spectacular in any area (see Tyson Gillies .341 BA or Ryan … [Read more...]
Sixers vs. Warriors: All About Curry vs. Jrue
The Sixers are probably suppose to win this game but the way they are playing you just never know. The Warriors are a young team that is perimeter dominate and extremely thin in the front court with Anthony Randolph and possibly Ronnie Turiaf out. And that's on top of Corey Maggette out as well. Even with a depleted roster the Warriors were able to beat the Hawks on Sunday behind the scoring 1-2 bunch of Monta and Curry. It will be interesting to see if the Sixers can contain these two … [Read more...]
Where Can Eagles Make Impact This Off-Season?
There are all a couple things that happen every off-season. Usually in the same order. It starts with: Will McNabb get traded? I've voiced my opinion on this already here. We are already past this step this off-season. The media comes up with all sorts of crazy speculation about where McNabb is going to go despite the fact that there is NEVER a legit rumor to him being traded. It amounts to "what if" water cooler talk that is passed off as stuff that is actually happening. So far this … [Read more...]
Goodbye Brian Westbook

The Eagles did what I think we all expected they would do today: released Brian Westbrook. B. West gave the team and us fans 2 elite seasons and 8 great years. He was easily my favorite player on the team for a long time and just like with Dawkins it's sad to see him go. At age 30, unable to shake all the nagging injuries and now concussions you can't really blame the Birds for deciding to go in a different direction knowing they have B. West-light in LeSean McCoy ready to take on a … [Read more...]
ReclinerGM’s 2010 MLB Preview:
Phillies Bullpen and Bench

Other ReclinerGM 2010 MLB previews Both of these areas were critical to our World Championship in 2008, and both were significantly worse during our 2009 run that fell short. The bench went 1 for 31 in the playoffs, and was given an overhaul in the off-season with 3 new players (Brian Schneider, Juan Castro, Ross Gload) brought in. Add in the mid-season acquisition of Ben Francisco and Greg Dobbs is the only player left from 2009's opening day bench. The bullpen blew game after game in … [Read more...]
Really, Sixers?
If you haven't heard already Iverson requested another leave of absence from the team to be with his sick daughter. That's understandable. What's not is how a rumor that the team is considering breaking ties with Iverson because of it. Allen Iverson will not be with the Philadelphia 76ers on their current West Coast road trip and could have played his last game for the team. League sources told Yahoo! Sports there’s a strong movement within the organization to permanently break ties … [Read more...]

Is It Time To Temper Expectations For Villanova?
Coming into this season we knew this Villanova team had a lot of flaws. But until this recent stretch of Big East games, they had been covered up by late game comebacks or heroic plays by Scottie Reynolds. But now, after yesterday's loss to Pitt, Nova finds themselves 2-3 in their last 5, and wondering just how far they can really go in the NCAA tournament. Here are my amateur observations as to why the team is struggling... Interior play - Antonio Pena's numbers might show he had 9 … [Read more...]
