Yes, the Sixers play again. My god this is beyond excruciating to bare. This one should be a blow out. The Bobcats have a lot of play for, are rested and lock up defensively under Larry Brown every night. The Sixers are coming off a back-to-back, have nothing to play for but pride (which I am not convinced they have) and are prone to give up easy baskets and take horrible shots when forced to work hard offensively. Could be really really ugly. This is your game thread. … [Read more...]
Sixers vs. Thunder Game Thread
Good game tonight. Well entertaining team coming into Philly to play our unentertaining team. Durant is on a rapid ascent to the top tier of elite NBA players. Iguodala and his sore feet will be charged with slowing him down. Russell Westbrook has continued to improve and now looks like a solid player to run the point for this upcoming team. Jrue will try to lock him up - again. On top of that this team really locks in defensively. They are young, good with potential to get even … [Read more...]
Moyer Officially Named 5th Starter
Jamie Moyer will make at least one more start in a Phillies uniform. Charlie Manuel announced today that Moyer would be the 5th starter to begin the year. This makes sense as Moyer is owed a ton of money, has pitched well in the spring, and doesn't make as much sense out of the bullpen as Kendrick. Moyer gave up only 1 run in his official spring training starts (11.2 IP, 0.77 ERA, 12 K) and pitched well in 2 of his 3 B-game starts, which don't count towards stats. As I said in my rotation … [Read more...]
ReclinerGM Pre-Season Power Poll
I did one of these in late January before Spring Training, and now after Spring Training, I have a little better idea of how I think things will turn out. Let's take a look: Contenders 1. Boston Red Sox - My pick to win it all due to their improved pitching and defense. 2. New York Yankees - Good chance at a repeat, but need a lot of things to go right again. 3. Philadelphia Phillies - On paper, better than each of the back-to-back NL Champion squads. 4. Tampa Bay Rays - Stuck in the … [Read more...]
Sixers vs. Hawks Game Thread – and a Little Player Bashing
Getting the game thread up early because Pete and I are actually going down to the Wachovia center all day for the Battle on Broad Street shooting competition for Junior Achievement. We do this through our company who supports the event with a team every year. So technically we will be at the game, but most likely watching the tournament games (and some Sixers) in the AT&T Pavilion. Sixers Bashing (of the Player Variety) "They are having dunk contests before games; they are running … [Read more...]
McNabb Watch: Raiders Now In Play?
The rumors around ProFootballTalk and some other sites right now are that the Raiders are making a hard push for McNabb. One option would be the #8 pick in the draft straight up. Another crazier rumor has McNabb and Asante Samuel going for CB Nnamdi Asomugha (and perhaps a late pick). This is a deep enough draft that I'd actually prefer the 8th pick of the 2nd round and a 3rd or a 4th instead of the #8 overall. I would also welcome a McNabb/Samuel for Asomugha/2nd/3rd rounder deal. The … [Read more...]
Sixers vs. Bucks Game Thread
This should be a loss. Should be a blowout knowing Skiles and the way he has the Bucks playing. They are tough and play the right way. Jennings vs. Jrue is worth watching if you don't care about the Sixers much at the moment. Continuing on the road to the top 3 (bottom three if you're confused). This is your game thread. … [Read more...]
Eagles Rumors: Is McNabb to the Rams Close?
Philly.com (who is surprisingly scooping ESPN and CNNSI for the first time in recent memory) is reporting that there is a deal on the table that would results in Donovan McNabb being traded to the Rams for the 1st pick in the 2nd round and FS Oshiomogho Atogwe. The Eagles had no comment. This deal makes sense for both teams. For the Rams, they get an answer at QB for the next 4-5 years and open themselves up to take Ndomokong Suh with the 1st overall pick (which they should be doing anyway). … [Read more...]
Real Movement On The QB Trade Front?
Andy Reid said something. And it wasn't... "We like the guys we have" or "I need to do a better job" or "There were some good things and some bad things" It was actually something interesting. It was the first time I can remember that Reid actually acknowledged in any way the possibility of trading McNabb. While he didn't mention McNabb by name, he said this about the 3 QB's... People are entertaining us with offers. Nothing's been done, but we're evaluating all of them. … [Read more...]
High Fives and Solemn Head Shakes:
Assessing the 2010 Eagles

This is the second reader-generated guest post on the Philadelphia Eagles on ReclinerGM. If you want to submit a post about the Eagles, check out this post for instructions or email us at reclinergm@gmail.com with any questions. Let me begin by stating that I am not the most avid Donovan McNabb supporter. I appreciate what he has done for the franchise, and I have enjoyed watching him play football in Philadelphia for the majority of my adult life (most of the time). That being said, I … [Read more...]
