The Phillies are NL East champs, for the 4th straight year! This is truly something I never thought I'd see. But you could see by the on-field "celebration" after the win, this is becoming a little "old hat" for the Phils. Well - that put an end to that controversy for at least another week. Michael Vick continued his swift and shocking assent with his 2nd straight outstanding game as starting QB. 17 for 31, 295 yards, 3 TD passing, 1 TD rushing, 0 turnovers. Part of me wants to feel bad for the Braves, their fans and Bobby Cox. They've fought hard all year, Bobby Cox is one of the best managers in history in his farewell season. The Sixers have finally traded Willie Green (and Jason Smith). Everyone (except JJG) rejoice. Willie and Jason were traded to the New Orleans Hornets for Craig Brackins and Darius Songalia. Well - I didn't see that coming. Andy Reid named Michael Vick the starting QB for the Eagles...for the rest of the season. ESPN is reporting that the move is "permanent" and not related to Kolb's injury. The Phils continued their ridiculously hot September (now 15-3), but sweeping the Nats out of a Philly in a series capped by a ridiculous 4-run 9th inning yesterday.
