Villanova vs. UNC Final Four

Villanova vs. UNC Final Four Match Up

Wow. Villanova against North Carolina in the Final Four. Personally I can't imagine a better, more anticipated and exciting match up. The problem for me: who do I root for? I know Pete is all Nova and we will be watching the game together tonight. But even at this point I haven't completely committed either way. The money for me is with UNC. Meet Stu Inman In 1984 Stu Inman was director of personnel and was in charge of scouting and drafting for the Portland … [Read more...]

Tyler Hansbrough Goes ‘Psycho T’ on 7’7 Center Kenny George

"Everybody on the team is like, 'Who's going to try to dunk [on George - the 7'7, 360 pound center from North Carolina-Asheville]?'" Hansbrough said. "It definitely was in the back of my mind." From the back of his mind straight to the top play on Sportscenter and a memorable poster that will be coveted by every die-hard UNC fan.  That ferocious throw-down is exactly why Tyler Hansbrough is appropriately nicknamed 'Psycho T".  This quote and   that play are two of the many reasons why … [Read more...]

Hometown Standout Wayne Ellington Keeps Tar Heels Perfect

Episcopal Academy hoops star Wayne Ellington brought out his best game for top-ranked North Carolina against #19 Clemson. With 5 seconds left in overtime and everyone in Littlejohn Coliseum aware of who was going to get the rock, Ellington pulls up for a game-winning 3. Swish - a perfect way to cap off an already outstanding performance. That three left the Tigers with .4 seconds on the clock and all but sealed the win for UNC in their first ACC battle of the season. Wayne scored 7 of 9 … [Read more...]
