Check Out Elton Brand and His New Kicks Tomorrow

by Dannie

A bit of Sixers related information for you guys. I have been communicating with a representative from Converse about Elton Brand’s new relationship with the company and his signature sneaker, the EB1.

If you are planning to be in the Tri-State area tomorrow afternoon, Elton Brand will meet and greet fans and sign autographs as he, JCPenney, and Converse debut the EB1 signature shoe at the JCPenney store in the Deptford Mall in Jersey from 3pm-5pm, Sunday November 16.

Elton will be available for media interviews from 3-3:30pm, then available to sign autographs for kids in attendance the remainder of the time. The event is free and open to the public. Please contact Paul Jackiewicz at paul.jackiewicz@converse.com or 312-714-5775 if you plan to attend.

I haven’t seen any big name press mentions about this so I thought it would be good let all of you know.  So for any of you with young children or an Elton Brand crush here is a nice opportunity to meet the newest Sixer up close and personal.  By all accounts (Clipper fans aside) he is a classy, personable and upstanding guy.

Let’s just hope this event comes after a Sixers victory tonight.

Scouting report:  It’s rumored that Elton will be equipped with a 15 ft extension pen.  Autograph seekers, give him room (no double
teaming).  When he decides to leave J.C. Penney’s, expect him to jab step (a time or two) and pull up for a final autograph, or put his head down and drive right, to the crowded parking lot.  An acquired autograph should be worth 20 & 10 in time.  Get in line early.  Will not stay for 4 years.
