The NFL Draft is about a week away, and many people are updating their Mock Drafts, so here is what the “experts” are saying the Eagles will do in the first 3 rounds of the draft:

A couple notes on the mocks, and then some rumors floating around…
- Does anyone really think we are taking Knowshon Moreno? I know these guys aren’t Eagles writers, but they should know team tendencies by now. I’m convinced that we will trade up for an offensive lineman and then take a CB or DE with the other first round pick. Why? Because that’s the least exciting thing I can think of. Frankly, I’m OK with taking a RB in the 2nd or 3rd, as long as we actually play him.
- Anquan Boldin is officially on the table and reports are the Eagles, Giants, Jets and Ravens have shown interest. Asking price is still a 1st and 3rd rounder. I’d try to pull a 1st and Reggie Brown. Still would do it for the picks though. We need an impact skill position player like I need the weekend to show up.
- I will probably faint in shock if we actually trade for Boldin considering we’ve been linked to every single available WR for the last 2-3 years and gotten nothing.
- One report I found interesting was from profootballtalk.com, which had OT Jason Smith coming in for a visit. Smith is expected to go top-5 and there are rumors we could deal with Chiefs at #3 if he falls to them. Considering all the commotion about the ridiculous rookie salaries and how everyone is trying to get out of the first round, we might be able to get it on the cheap.
- Why is the “schedule release” such a big deal? We knew the teams we were playing awhile ago, just not the order.

A more realistic trading partner is the Jags at #8.
Should draft the best Senior from Boise State. Anybody who plays 4 seasons on blue Astroturf has GOT to be tough.
Not sure how people rationalize that Bouldin is not worth a 1st round pick. Is the guy the Eagles get in the 1st round going to have the same impact as Bouldin would? Most likely not. And with this team, the time is now, so is the Eagles 1st round pick going to have the same impact within the next 2-3 years as Bouldin would? Definitely not. A 1st round pick is a gamble and Bouldin is a proven ProBowl receiver. I just don’t get the argument people make against trading 1st round picks.
