Eagles Post-Draft Depth Chart

by Pete on April 26, 2009

I’ll have my draft review up sometime this week (it’s up, right here), but here is what the Eagles depth chart looks like right now for the 2009-10 season. New arrivals are shaded green. Feel free to talk about the draft and off-season as a whole here until I get the review up.

Does this mean Victor Harris isn’t going to make the team?

2 Dannie 04.26.09 at 7:54 pm

Really not liking Sheldon Brown at all right now.

I don’t see how he can remain on the team at this point.  He won’t shut his mouth and we all know the media will keep baiting him.

If this keeps up he should get killed the same exact way T.O. did when he was making a fuss about his money.  And T.O. was a much bigger producer on the field.

Harris will def. make the team. These are just players I see as rotation players. He very well may be if we trade Sheldon. We also might move him to Safety. Too many players on the roster to include everyone though.

Thanks Pete,
I just didn’t know if they could keep 6 CB’s on the roster or not….

Behind Mikell add in Rashad Baker. He was also added in the off season as depth but is by no means a lock to make the team.

I wanted a tight end in the 3rd round but I heard Didinger liked the t. end we got later.

Pat -

good call. totally forgot about him. I’ll add him in.

dss-

we could have drafted Ingram in the 3rd and no one would have criticized us for it. he was a great pick-up. I think he can come in and play right away.

Dannie: on Sheldon Brown – was gonna say be careful what you wish for but apparently he’s taking it REALLY WELL. he may be shocked to learn that his market value may not be as hyped up as his agent is making it to be. Lito was a play-making corner, the type that gambles for INTs, the sort that looks real shiny to most teams and  even look what he had to go through. Brown is solid but i dont think he’s gonna get much at all.

I think we should trade sheldon to the Bills and let him have to put up with TO again if he’s so unhappy now.

jkay – What do you mean “taking it really well?”  I have yet to hear a positive comment come from his mouth since this all started.  I mean the guy said “you don’t want me in that locker room.”

It will be interesting to see where they plan on using Macho Harris.  He will be a valuable special teams player on both returns and coverage.  I would like to see him listed at safety on the depth chart.

Dannie: I look at it as great news in terms of me being traded.” – I meant he seems pretty pleased. I’d be worried if my starting job was already gone before anything had happened. It’s a shame the way he’s handling it. Wonder if the Eagles will honor his request, T.O. him for a year on the sidelines or Lito him on the bench as some 4th string DB?

13 Dannie 04.27.09 at 12:02 pm

jkay – Yeah except I am not confident they are going to trade him at the moment which means we have another bad apple (a longer term defensive veteran) in the locker rom as of right now.

While acquiring Hobbs was very, very smart by the Eagles and now gives him options we haven’t heard any indication they plan to move him.

Pete and I were talking earlier today about how the NFL system sucks and almost hurts teams that do a good job of signing players to value contracts.  The Eagles have a good corner in Sheldon locked up at good value.  They really have no reason to move him and I could see them just screwing him for acting like this.  Let him age and deteriorate rather than trade him right now.  Really curious to see how camp is.

What a shame, the way Sheldon is acting. I truly understand being undervalued, I had to train my boss, but I didn’t sign on the dotted line. I hope the young players on the team take note of the Eagles philosophy oflocking up guys early in their careers to “value contracts”. If there is any truth to the story, Shawn Andrews is next to gripe in the media.
Real men honor their signatures. Play hard and keep the disagreements behind closed doors.

I agree Dre, it seems like good business on Banner!s part but maybe the system [signing bonuses] has to change.

In addition to being an Eagles fan I am a Gator fan and incoming freshmen at Florida and I can tell you Ingram is a steal in the 5th…he was a first round talent before he tore his ACL and guys (even Jeremy Maclin) recover from that better than ever nowadays…he might not be the best blocker but he has recovered from the knee injury and with his hands, speed and athletic ability he should at the very least push Celek for the starting spot….

17 Goo Gill 04.30.09 at 5:48 pm

this depth chart only includes 47 players, plus 2 more for K and P..which means 49 that means there are 4 more spots. Bryan Smith, Victor Harris, Dan Klecko, and some other guy. There is a good chance that Reggie Brown won’t be back next yr. There is no room for him.

18 Dannie 04.30.09 at 6:01 pm

Goo Gill - Good Reggie Brown stinks.  Underachiever, let’s not keep him around forever like we did Greg Lewis.
