All this Delonte West talk is silly. Last year, playing in 19 more games than West, Lou shot better from the field, the line, and 3-pt territory. He had a higher rate of steals, scored at a higher rate, and had a better assist-to-turnover ratio. He’s also 3 years younger and already has the benefit of having played with our other core players for their entire stay here. He’s a better option today and he’ll be a better option in 3 years.

let me field this one, gentlemen.

Aaron McKie was an unpaid assistant coach for the Sixers in February when he was included in a trade from the Lakers to Memphis (I know it sounds crazy but somehow it happened.) he was released from Memphis on may 9th. He will certainly come home to roost in Philly as an assistant (if he has not already) – he is a philly guy —Simon Gratz High/Temple….. too bad he cant be a player/coach with that money mid-range jumper and 3-point marksmenship

I watched all the Summer League games and didn’t see McKie at all. I wasn’t paying that close attention to the Sixers coaches, but I’m sure if Aaron McKie was there I would’ve spotted him. Don’t quote me on it though.

As for Malone, I don’t see why he wouldn’t be there. He was there all last season and those types of coaches usually stick around for a while. He still needs to finish what he started with Sam.

I didn’t realize Aaron Mckie had been retained as an assistant coach for the Sixers after his career revival “playing” for Memphis last year (aka: a free 800k) . Has anyone that’s been watching the summer league games seen him around on the bench, or is he more being involved with player development?

Also, is Moses Malone still on staff helping out with the big guys?

I’m sure moving Reggie Evans’s contract next summer (and hopefully Willie Green’s) will be a big priority to make sure we can offer A Miller a frontloaded, three year contract to make sure he stays.

E.S. said on 950 today that both guys turned down more money elsewhere; we went from having a guy, A.I., who nobody wanted to play with to a guy, Brand, that is a free agent magnet. I think E.S. , after signing Iggy and L.Will., is done for the summer, except for whispering into A.Miller!s ear, ” I!ve built it, now will you stay?”

I personally think K. Rush will spend alot of his minutes with Brand in the game. Cheeks usually likes to send guys in pairs, and the main reason they went out and got a 3 point threat was to disuade other teams from doubling Brand. He wont be a starter by any means, but I see him getting the bulk of his time at the end of quarters.

I do think W. Green will get the bump in a sign and trade for another 3 point threat. Willies 28.5% just doesn’t cut it.

I love Lou too much to even think that way, but Delonte would be a very solid fit for the next couple years. Lou’s the point guard of the future in my opinion though.

I was actually wondering myself if a swap of West and Lou might be a possibility. Don’t know exactly how it would have to work out, but I think in order for us to get West it would have to be a sign and trade since he’s not going to sign for the minimum.
