UPDATE - Lou will be out 8 weeks. He had surgery on this broken jaw. Bittersweet news. Lou has been our best offensive player this season. But it also opens up tons of time for Jrue to show us what he can do. In the end I think it’s a positive. The team isn’t going anywhere this season so Jrue’s development should be priority.
Come to find out that Lou Williams suffered a fractured jaw in the Wizards game. I don’t remember the elbow, does anyone else? He was clearly unaware of the severity of the injury during the game.
X-rays revealed the fracture. He is out for tonight’s game against the Celtics, meaning Jrue Holiday SHOULD be starting. Whether Eddie Jordan will screw this up is still a game-time decision.
No word on how long Lou will be out, but, according to his Twitter account, he think thinks he will be out “a little while.”
Brand is a game-time decision as well.
And in completely unrelated news there have been talks within the Celtics organization about Allen Iverson. Danny Ainge loves him and tried to get him a few years ago. I doubt it happens, and that’s probably the one team I wouldn’t want him to go to for obvious reasons. But I do want him to find a place to play, and if that’s it so be it. No bearing on the Sixers since we won’t be in the playoffs anyway.
Update: Then AI announces his retirement only to rescind that announcement in less than 24 hours. Haha someone just pick up the man.

I give it about a 90% chance that Willie is the starter tonight.
(not saying I agree with that, but that’s the way I see it).
Iggy’s really gonna need to step it up offensively without Lou. Either than or Jrue get some PT and does his best brandon Jennings impersonation.
Derek – Sigh. Because I was thinking the same thing.
I would love for someone to give me one really good reason why Jrue shouldn’t start.
Dannie, in the 1st quarter he went over to the bench and was rubbing his jaw, talking to one of the assistants. A.I. retired today, according to Stephen A. Smith on Missanelli!s show.
Heard the “retired” news. But does that really mean anything until the papers are officially filed?
Do you think he would turn down an opportunity to play for a contender if they called?
I think he will be unretiring for the next 3 years. I don!t see him home sitting on the coach, but I hope I am wrong.
Kenny Smith said something that made a ton of sense…Everyteam is gearing up for this 2010 offseason when various relatively young franchise players are on the market. These teams aren’t gonna hinder thier chances however big or slim to jeopardize that, one of those things being signing Iverson…Any other year Iverson would be playing right now
With that said If Iverson can keep himself in playing shape, after the big free agent signing dust clears next year. If he still wants to play and even get good minutes he’d be able to find a squad.
I still thing Iverson may find a high calibur team to take him some time around the all-star break, trade deadline area.
Lou hurt his jaw when Jamison intentionally body checked him like he was playing for the Washington Capitals in the 1st quarter. I sure hope karma does bite back at him.
As for Lou, he will be out 8 weeks, with his jaw WIRED SHUT! That is certainly bad for him and wish him a speedy recovery. Imagine having to speak through your teeth and drinking only liquids. (Could’ve had a V8!) The only positive would be that he doesn’t not have to run his mouth too much. But we Sixers fans do wish him nothing but the best and a speedy recovery!
GO SIXERS! KEEP ON FIGHTING! (GULP)
If there is one thing Lou DOESN!T need it is to lose any weight !!!
