I personally don't subscribe to the "this team is better than their record" thought. Or the key play here or there. That is the case in all close games. Good teams are on the positive end of those key plays a large majority of the time that's why they have better records. Yes, they have had injuries and that matters a great deal. But even without Westbrook everyone thought the Eagles TEAM was good enough to still beat Chicago (Buckhalter averaged 4.1 yards per carry) and Washington I think it would have been better if Westbrook didn't play because he clearly wasn't at full strength and they didn't give Buck any carries to help out in the running game. Washington was hot going into that game and it carried over. And they didn't beat Dallas with Westbrook. You are as good as your record, that's why it's your record. Just my opinion.

Losing 3 close games to me doesn't mean that they are a better team than they look. It means to this point they haven't proven they can win close games.

Don't care much about Carolina's first round pick because there is a good chance the Eagles are going to trade out of the first round anyway unless this is a very very deep draft for lineman. I personally didn't think the Panthers would be that bad they still have some really good players on both sides of the ball. And went out and got a decent receiver to play opposite Steve Smith

Reid's history in the first round is pretty clear he is looking for a top offensive or defensive lineman. If one isn't there he is trading out for more picks to work with in later rounds. 8 first round picks 5 lineman. The other guys were Donovan, Lito and Freddie Mitchell. They already drafted their "QB of the future" and Reid values lineman and corners. We don't need any more corners and I don't think there will be a top defensive end or offensive tackle at the spots they will be drafting as things look. The Birds could tank and move up but I doubt that they will be below average at seasons end same for the Panthers. I could see them trying to package both picks to move up if there is a guy they really like but that is about the only chance I see of them staying in the first round especially if they can get multiple late round picks in exchange for trading out as we've seen the last two years.

I am sure there will be more draft talk at the end of the season Eagles are old and lack depth at offensive tackle and need some help in the backfield (Buck is a free agent and wants to start. We have no fullback, and we need another playmaker at running back for the eventual missed games Westbrook will go through), at TE, at safety and DE.

I think they can win all of their non-NFC East games remaining on the schedule. That is with a healthy Eagles team. They need to win at least 1 if not 2 games on the road against the other 3 division rivals. This team is better than their 3-3 record. Although its frustrating watching games like the ones against the Bears and Redskins, they have yet to be really "beaten". All 3 losses were close games and within our grasp with a few key plays. If this team can get on track and stay there, we may see them get into the playoffs and further.

Is anyone else pissed about how well Carolina is playing? Our first round pick from them is getting worse and worse as the weeks go by. What the F?

I agree, they are primed for a run. Gonzalez would have been great but word is KC wanted a 2 and a 5...too much, in my view. When the season started, I had them at 4-2 at the bye, assuming they'd beat Chicago and Skins at home, but lost to the Steelers. In order to get to 11 wins, which should assure them a playoff spot, they will have to win at least one game they're not supposed to -- Giants in Meadowlands, maybe twice, Cowboys at home, Ravens on road...at least one of those. Tall order, but doable.

I still think they win 8 of the next 10 (if #5 stays healthy). Whether that will be good enough to win the division, I dont know, but I do think they are going to the playoffs.

If they had beat the Bears like they should have they would be 4-2 and in decent position. That game is still really sitting bad with me.
