Dannie, enjoyed reading your comments on the team, I agree completely. The team is not looking good at all! They're lazy on defense, and the Princeton offense, what Princeton offense? It looks like the same-old same-old to me, a bunch of one-on-one stuff, and a lot of turnovers. Plus the fact that nobody on this team can shoot.

My question is when is the honeymoon ending for Eddie Jordan: 10, 15, 20 games; I have this feeling that it will be sooner rather than later. As you mentioned, his in-game strategy is a real head scratcher? Yesterday we were getting killed on the boards, yet our best rebounder played 14 minutes. The obvious conclusion is that Sam wasn't hitting the boards, but the fact is, he had 5 rebounds. If you project those numbers out, that's 10 rebounds in 28 minutes, that’s good rebounding production.

Realistically speaking, It's too early to draw any conclusions on our new coach, but, the early returns aren't looking too good. Especially if you're one of those fans who wasn't too keen on him in the first place.

All I know is, if I was Ed Stefanski I would be on the phone with Memphis seeing if there is any way we could work something out for Rudy Gay. We all know Thad is a local Memphis product and he has a bright future too. So they might be interested. Another consideration is that he might be able to help them at the gate, something that's a major problem for them. He (Rudy Gay) recently went on record saying that he will not resign with them, so they might be looking to move him. I know Thad has potential and all, but we really need somebody who can make a jump shot consistently, we need a scorer!!

Was impressed by Pistons' rookies Jerebko and Daye yesterday. They look like they have a clue and a future, not frustrated or bewildered like many Sixers' expressions. Come to think of it, maybe Sixers are thinking too much. Suns tonight may let 'em run and play a little ... "let it flow", like the late Grover Washington Jr. famously sounded for his friend, Dr. J.

Correction: John McLendon. A Hall Of Famer deserves name to be spelled right.

Thanks, Dannie. Made things perfectly clear. Jordan ain't John Lucas (yet) but he ain't John McClendon either.

Also JJG you are correct. Once the hire was made I committed to giving the man a chance. So far, no good. Very underwhelming and his public comments thus far about the performance of the team and his approach to coaching has soured me.

JJG - I thought it was pretty clear who my (and Pete's) choice was back when the discussion was hot. I really wanted Tom Thibedou from Boston. I wanted someone who could teach defense and develop talent over time. I didn't want another mediocre coach who has had ample chance to prove his mettle, but didn't.

I preferred a fresh face and a new person to the NBA head coaching field for a team that clearly wasn't in position to win much of anything right now. A guy that could grow as the team grew.

My opinion before was that the next great coach was likely to come from someone who isn't currently a head coach and I like the assistant coaching experience TT had.

IF, we had more talent and a better chance to compete with the big boys I would have been cool with a guy like Avery Johnson to lead a "move-in ready" ball club.

Dannie, You were fairly quiet and neutral on head coaching choice at time of hire, perhaps out of politeness or a sense of fairness. Did you always think it was a mistake or has your mind been changed by the jumble that you now see?

Holiday looks like he's got some nice ability. Too bad these kids have money on the table at 19 and choose (understandably) to discontinue court and personal
development on a campus. I like what I see in his length, quickness and fundamentals on D for a guard, but babes, by general rule, don't cut it in the NBA for awhile.

Sixers were simply out-toughed yesterday. "Generic" Brand, Dummy#1, "Goober" Smith and "Gimmetherock" Speights fell short on basic duty: REBOUNDING, over and over, repeatedly, and again.

Morty - Very true and I actually have some thoughts and a post coming on that. Might wait until we play 10 games before releasing it though.

General point of it is that the mistake made for this season happened when we hired Eddie Jordan.
