Anyone out there?
Sadly no one cares about this team at the present moment. Or better stated, no one cares to watch or talk about this team. I mean what really is there to watch or say that hasn’t been covered?
We have 19 games people. 19 games and we can start hoping and wishing again. Hoping the clowns that run this franchise start making strong moves and giving us a product worth supporting.
We got Michael Jordan’s Bobcats tonight. They have a lot to play for right now so they should handle the Sixers tonight. But we know the Sixers don’t aim to please, no matter what the goal is.
This is your game thread.

The Bobcats are shooting 76% from the field so far.
The one game out of the 19 games I want them to win… and this is happening. Well it’s not over yet and even a loss wouldn’t ruin the day.
Jrue’s jumper is falling, hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
Aaron McKie’s done a helluva job working with Jrue’s J…Possibly the only thing done well organization-wide.
Here’s a tweet from Jalen Rose:
“#nbafact there will be big surprise name changes in the front office and on the coaching staff of the Philly 76ers…stay tuned!”
Looks like more and more rumors are starting to float around. That’s a good sign.
Yes!!! I really am starting to believe that Management(Lukko and Snider) tanked this season, and here’s why:
1. 2010-2011 season (Dalembert, Green, come of salary and the potential to move Brand next season as well)
2. New CBA.
3. Jordan is sorry, sorry, sorry and they new it!
4. Cheeks salary comes off this year.
5. 2011-12 Philly Live is scheduled to be completed which will create a new environment at the complex and they will be a better team, new coach, new GM and there will be a shift in power as Boston will go down and depending on where LeBron ends up (I say he stays in Cleveland).
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Dannie, Anybody can shoot in pickup games, which the Sixers games of late have essentially evolved into. I wouldn’t make too much of Holiday’s hot streak. He saw the rot around him, said to himself I can’t do worse – thus all pressure has been turned off lately, especially since AI left. He’s McKie’s pet project. Everything has been in the kid’s favor. The biggest thing: opponents don’t guard him yet. Credit where it’s due: he’s taken advantage of circumstances on an individual plane, offensively speaking.
keep EJ in. will guarantee more losses. cant afford to fire him now. only problem is they still have to play 18 or so more games. not sure many viewers can stomach that.
was psyched to watch some ball tonight having not watched a game for 2 weeks. could not go past the 1st quarter. got up and took a stroll. not sure I have energy to even complain about the players.
we got our wish; EJ will be canned, Jrue is getting tons of playing time, 6ers record is deflating towards the goal……but meen is it painful to watch.
Jkay I thought it was painful too for a while. Now I find it amusing, because as jjg stated, they actually look like pick-up game ballers. No REAL offensive set. No real idea on how to effectively ATTEMPT to guard the P-n-R. Not seeming to care about defending the perimeter. It amuses me to see a play break down, and see Sammy take a “Fuck It” 18 ft. jumper. Or Bill Green go flying down the court after getting a rebound, to take a terrible contested shot that clanks off the rim with the force of a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick. Defenses packing it inside the perimeter daring the Sixers to shoot. Even the opposition gets tainted with baffling stupidity at times playing the Sixers. Case in point Boris Diaw letting the ball roll by his legs and let the Sixer player get it. “Ah he’ll just miss it at the other end, why reach down and get the ball”. Or our old friend LB blowing a gasket after 3 forced bad plays by DJ Augustin, the last one a Made layup, which seemed to set LB into a fury for DJ not running a play
I would like the Thad/ Iggy at the 3/2 tried some more towards the end of the year, now that our p.g. is stretching the floor a bit; they seem to be getting a few minutes here and there and may determine whether we go s.g. or center in this draft. If we are picking #9 we may have an equal value guy at each spot, [Henry/Alrich] or [J.Anderson/Monroe].
Holiday stretching the floor? Scribbling on the floor more like it. Last 2 games: 74 min., 12 assists, 9 TOs – really poor PG ratio. Who’s he settin’ up? Pounds it too much. I’ll give him one thing: he’s cocky – and hungry for the bright lights. Is he a bright light of Sixers’ future? Maybe; maybe not. My present opinion: too splashy & individualistic (even defensively), too prone to ’the dazzle’ over the doing - not my idea of a quality PG. Speights, early this season, and Young, last two years, have been overheralded. Jrue is present stand-in for what they represented to fans – a youthful vision of hope; feed for projections and images of success. Long arms, young legs and attitude … is it enough?
After an inopportune win last Sunday, it’s been heartening to see the team band together to get back into top 5 pick contender status. Good work! At this point I would be disappointed to see EJ fired before the end of the season.
Drafting slot irrelevant if Stefanski’s still employed and organization’s trend of picking wet-behind-the-ears players continues. Maybe they’ve learned a lesson and will choose a grizzled college junior.
Prime Candidate for a Stefanski Pick in the upcoming draft…Lance Stephenson aka Born Ready
On another note the Sixers are only 2 games behind Indy, with 3 teams(Wash, NY, DET) between them. While the Sixers wont catch Jersey, The tank can possibly bully it’s way into top 5 contention in we can get into position behind Jersey in the East. Out West Minny & G.S. are the only guys Seriously ahead of the Sixers, with Sacto 2 games ahead.
jjg - do you have someone in mind? Any drafting preference early on?
Dannie, I haven’t watched a full college game since Penn upset Cornell at Palestra
(entertaining contest). Had a passing glance at Turner (4 pre-halftime possessions – one airball from 5 ft, one successful right side drive) last week … snap judgement: if he’s the best college player as Jerardi said, future of NBA is in trouble. I truly don’t know the landscape of prospects though; may learn some through peeks at March Madness. Do you still like Wall as top pick? No matter what position they go to fill, Sixers need no-frill competitive seriousness, toughness … as presented in the facial expressions and play of Wallace & Jackson last night.
JJG – If you like Brandon Roy, you’ll likely enjoy Turner. He is a good player, not a lot of frills but highly productive in all aspects of the game and can play all 3 wing positions.
Wall is still the greatest talent although I think his running mate Cousins might be seriously gaining ground.
Jumpin, his 3pt. shooting is a plesent surprise, rest of his game is a work in progress; you know me, glass 1/2 full kinda guy; by the way, M.Leaks IS alive !!!
