JJG - Regarding bounce back I wasn't talking on a macro level. Just a micro level of coming back to win a game after being dismantled the previous. Also, if you want to take it a step further bounce back could also refer to the short trend of the Sixers only winning games against perceived weaker foes. Nothing more.

Rob, You are the sunniest. 2-3 would be par. 3-2, overachievement. There's real potential of a 5-game skid if they slip up in Jersey, probably the only game of the five in which they'll be favored by oddsmakers.

This week will be intriguing for the Sixers because this is a week where they will be playing many games in many nights, more like a typical schedule. Our next five opponents are:

11/8--@ Detroit
11/9--vs Phoenix
11/11--@ New Jersey
11/13--vs Utah
11/14--@ Chicago

How do you guys think this team will fare in these five games? I am very much looking forward to the Phoenix game if you love high scoring games and they played the Suns twice in the preseason in some great games, although it was a split for both teams. Let's see if our Sixers can go 4-1 or possibly 5-0, if they want to look for consistency earlier, this should be the earliest path to start. I think 3-2 would be my guess for a worst case scenario.

GO SIXERS!!

Dannie, Not to split hairs, but "bounce back" implies a return to a customary level of accepted play. Most customers, present or potential, realize that the 9-man Nets, the Knick-nacks and the antlerless Bucks represent little in the way of resistance. The only substantial "bounc[ing]" done by the 76ers so far has been in the announced home attendance figures.

Pete's right about handling the sub-0.500 teams of last season thus far. Now the Sixers have to figure out ways to beat the elite. Last year, only that win over the Lakers was the only qualified one!

(Also, check out the stats by Lou in that game!)

This will probably be yet another weak start -> strong finish season. But not a very likable squad IMO.
... then management will blow more smoke next summer about how they are turning the corner. And next sumer everyone else will be making moves while Comcast are sitting back and trying to find a way to pay Brand and Iguodala nearly 30M and praying someone will buy the team from them.

Sorry to pile on, but they are a bad franchise in a city with better option. Sometimes sort of wish I wasn't such a pro-hoops fan- I'm that down on this franchise right now.

Pete's right. i remember last year and how badly it sucked for the first 20 games. they're not a vry good eam but i doubt they will end up this pathetic.

dssuede: the word i would use to describe Lou's surprising offensive performane is 'efficient'. interesting how we thought he was anything but. good call on Donyell, he's the only one that talks sense there.

i think we should just let it play out.

ugh Trent Hassel? ugh

gotta give this team some time this season - new coach, new scheme, all that. I think Dannie's rule is usually 20 games in before freaking out.

they do look like crap - but have beaten the teams they should beat and lost to the teams they should lose to.

I'm curious to see how we play against ATL, DET, MIA, TOR, DET, CHI and WAS
