Sixers vs. The LeBrons – Take Two

Pre-game thoughts

  • Cheeks said Willie Green will most likely be in the starting line-up again.  His explanation for this last game was he felt Willie Green was better suited to chase Delonte West around defensively.  What’s your take?  Do you think Thad can’t handle West defensively?
  • Zydrunas Ilgauskas is out tonight so the Sixers won’t have to deal with his 7-3 post presence.  But Anderson Varejao was actually the front court player that had the most impact in the last game with 15 points and 8 boards in 34 minutes.  I am assuming he will be the starter.
  • Will Andre Miller do a better job defensively on Mo Williams?  If Willie Green is going to be in the line-up anyway would it make more sense to put him on Williams and Miller on Delonte?
  • What Elton Brand will show up?  The slug from last game or the 20-10, 50% shooter we paid for?
  • We could see the Cavs go small for longer stretches of the game which could result in Mo playing the Brand/Thad front court more.  Good thing?
  • The Sixers need to do a better job on the boards tonight.
  • Will Sammy get a clue and his minutes back tonight?
  • Will the Sixers shoot better than 1-10 from three tonight?  We have yet to see Brand, Marshall and Rush on the court at the same time to see if we can burn teams from three if they double Brand.  Better yet, attempt to scare teams from doubling him to see if he we can create more space for him to work inside.

If this game gets out of hand early, Boston and New Orleans are on ESPN at 8.  Yeah, I am that pessimistic.

Totally unrelated to this game, but I will be at tomorrow night’s game. I will be in Section 219, Row 2. If anyone will be there and wants to meet up before the tip, let me know where in the building and at what time.

Dave T….We will be stopping at Mama’s prior to the game for dinner.  I will post my review as soon as I get a chance.

Its halftime, and the Sixers are pretty much disgusting me right now.  We need to shut down Lebron in the second half if we are going to have a chance, which means, we need to make him a jump shooter instead of a foul shot shooter. Elton still doesn’t look like himself…at all.

BSKI – I will be at the game Section 118, row 20 seats 5 and 6.  I usually get to the game an hour early.

More of the same, the other team hits open shots and we don!t, that is my game summary.

Sounds good, Dannie. You are directly below me.  We can stop at your section before we head up to ours.  I don’t know if the ushers will let me into your section since I have tickets for the upper level.  Maybe we can meet outside on the concourse at a concession stand or a souvenir shop.  Is there one near your section?  I know you like to see the team warm up so if you want to watch them first, we can meet after that.  Just pick a time and we will meet you then.

These next four games are what the Sixers need.  Hopefully, they will deliver!  And I hope Lou feels better, because he really gives the team the energy on both ends of the floor, especially offensively.
