Here is an interesting artile on how Iggy met Kobe and hired Rob Pelinka as his agent:
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/sixers/20090318_Sixers_Notes___Iguodala_in_Bryant_s_long_shadow.html

Iggy-- continue talking and practicing with Kobe, but also get a shooting coach if you want to improve year after year and be the "ultimate competitor" like Kobe is.

Dannie, if Nova plays U.C.L.A. please give me a scouting report on Collison, I!m a guy who feels he is ideal for our team because of his defense and 3pt. shot. His long arms make up for his height, similar to Chalmers. A lot of people aren!t high on him but with Iggy and Thad as our 2 and 3 next year a guy that can spot up and shoot and not overdribble would work well here I believe.

Suede - Yea I have UNC winning, but it sucks because if he doesn't play they could get beat by LSU or Gonzaga. He needs to be ready for the 2nd game and on, otherwise they have no shot.

I have like 3 brackets with three different winners at this point.

Pete and I will be at the games in Philly this weekend. Really looking forward to a Nova vs. UCLA game on Saturday.

Ryan F - Dude I feel you. I went to bed sometime between 1:30 and 2am. then woke up at 6:15 for work. I am beat. I will get a quick post up for tonight's game, but I need to rest a bit in order to get adequately pumped for my monster hoops weekend.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready for the next game. Sixers FEVER is back and hopefully ESPN will recognize us!!

A quality SG, Jason Smith, and Elton Brand will make the Sixers much better next season! Hopefully, Ivey, Ratliff, and Marshall return for the Sixers!!

GREEK.....I'm back. The late starting times will make it tough for me to watch them on this trip, but I'm back.

Maybe if I get back to my regular posting, Dave T. won't have to carry me and he'll be able to get a bit of rest, hahahaha.

#1 who was that dude that Iggy was hand slapping at the end of the game?

#2 TH76, I agree completely with your barkings in post #20. I would love for Iggy to be a 15-17 pt guy who averages 6-7 assist and rebounds a game to complement Speights the Great and Thad. I would love for Iggy to have that mindset, and let others score more then him. We need him to have this mind set!

#3 Ima Guest, I think that your underestimating Thads present day defensive ability. For a 20 year old kid to be playing out of position in the NBA, I think he is doing a hell of a job. But your right, he has the ability to do a lot better. His dribbling has improved greatly from his rookie season when he was playing kickball with the basketball. Can't wait to see his handle next year! Also I think that he is a potentially good passer. It's no often that you see him Pull a Dalembeart and throw the ball directly to the other team. Most of his to's come off of Traveling calls, and like I said he has been improving at that.

# 4 Suede, I love the fact that your calling bringing up Jason Smith. It broke my heart when I heard that he would be out for the season. Another great kid who plays the right way. That's our boy right Morty!

#5 JJG, great point on Willie Greene's vast contribution in the early going. Just wish that he was coming off the bench just as he was in the beginning of the season. At the start of the season he played really well coming off the pine.

#6 Dave, I'm all in on Thad and I believe that as Sixers fan's that were holding a full freakin house with this kid! I love your Flynn Idea, but the problem with resigning Miller will be that we will have to endure another year of Steamin Willie Beamon starting. I can't live with that, off the bench yes, starting no. While I agree with you that it might be premature to proclaim him the Franchise player, I def. disagree with you that it's too premature to view him as a huge building block. Ed needs to view him as a huge building block or he is going to pull a dumb ass move and trade him. And if that happens, I think that I might turn into Michael Douglas in the movie "Falling Down"

#7, JJG your Traveling Dileo's term makes me laugh every time.

#8 Dave I don't how you do it bro, but this is more then I ever wrote in school. Keep it up

#9 BSKI, come back!

I was so happy after this game that I could barely sleep, felt like crap all day at work, but I felt the same. Why was Iguodala shrugging of all of his teammates to celebrate with whoever that guy was? I felt great about that win but just as bad for all of the Sixers who could barely get a hand on Iguodala at the end, especially A Miller who looked like he just found the cure for cancer when it went in.

I guess Ill pass it off on all the criticism he has had as a player and finally coming through in a big game in a big venue, and I have never read or heard anything about him him being a bad teammate or a loner in the locker room.

GUEST....It certainly did get my attention. Thanks for wondering about me. I've been slammed at work today and haven't had a chance to post.

I only watched the middle portion of the first quarter last night but not because I wasn't interested. We were down 8 or 9 points and I was tired, so I decided to hit the sack instead of staying up until 1am or whatever. I hate to stay up that late only to see us lose, you know? Then I'm aggravated and have difficulty getting to sleep which makes it worse. I do the same thing when the Phillies are on the west coast. If I'm off the next day I'll stay up and watch, otherwise I usually don't like to even start watching for fear of getting sucked in.

Not watching last night really was all about having to work a 10-hour day today, because I am interested again. I went to the game against the Heat on Sunday and, even though it was a sluggish effort in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, the 4th quarter, Donyell Marshall, and being part of a pretty good sized, raucous crowd got me back into things.

Since tonight's game starts a half-hour earlier than last night I'll try to suck it up and watch, at least until halftime anyway.
