i think that quote like all, are usually taken out of context and sound much worse than they should. it was probably an emotional torrent of words, can’t help it.
that said this guy, as much as I love him, is bout as egotistical as they get. not selfish but just believes himself to be something he is’nt and nothing has been able to disillusion him so far. he will still continue to hoist up those fadeaways and celebrate excessively, but we are not going anywhere without him.

great player, greater flaw.
can understand why people dont like him.

I do not like this article because I am a big Iggy fan, but I understand where everyone is coming from. I do not think we should trade him and I think we should feel kinda lucky he’s turned out to be this productive. I remember when Iverson was with the team, and Andre wasn’t even producing, he was just an average role player that would get the occasional dunk. He HAS improved a lot since Iverson got traded, and really stepped up as the team leader the season he got traded (Miller helped also). Fans can be a little biased good or bad towards our team and players. Bottom line, the league wide perception of this guy is that he’s a boarderline AllStar. He should work on his free throws, continue to work on his jump shot, take smarter shots, and stop complaining. I agree, but we should keep him.

Phillyfan - What are you talking about?

Eddie Jordan's defensive schemes, or lack thereof, complete focus on offense and his ridiculous substitution patterns have been moronic and still are.

He did something I felt was right last game by sitting Dala and this post credited him for it.

THIS POST also credited him for calling out the team for getting bullied and not responded.

Do you actually read the posts or are you just commenting blind?

I don’t know who ever thought AI was that good besides himself. He couldn’t get a max contract anywhere and that kinda says it all. What he is a Lebron James minus 60 pounds with no jump shot. There is no great players in this league that has no reliable jump shot, unless they are a center.

It is funny how many of the posters on this board were bashing Jordan after about 6 games. Now it seems like some of you are agreeing with him WITHOUT giving him credit. Maybe you are finally realizing that he has NOTHING to work with. You have said that his team is soft and he is using tough love – yet you aren’t really crediting him.

Dannie, I hope Elton is back this year because he is the one veteren we have that our young kids can learn from. He may even be able to bring Iggy!s ego down a tad if he starts getting 20 and 10 consistantly. What would Michael have said to Scottie if he pouted like this?

Well-put, Dannie. He’s a good player, neither lower-tier nor upper-tier. Consequently, he’s a wanna-be, very insecure about his identity in the league.

I said it last year when he snapped at a reporter who suggested that the 76ers was “Brand’s team” and I said it again before the season began: Should Iggy find himself in a situation or on a team in which he must share the limelight with players perceived to be better, it’s not at all unlikely that he’ll become a locker room personality problem. I figured it would be Brand that would steal thunder from him, but it might actually wind up being one or several of the younger players on this team, such as they are.

Paradoxically, he simultaneously wants to be the big fish in a small Philly pond AND he wants to be seen as a leauge-wide sensation.

Since I’m not particularly fond of this collection of players, I’ve got no problem with Iggy’s middle-of-the-road game being shipped elsewhere for an impact player, for draft picks, for an older guy whou could serve as a better mentor to the kids than he, or some combination of these.

Thanks for the post. One of the few pleasures of following this team is hearing other informed bball fans vent about the team’s suck-a-tude.

Greek, have you seen Lou play the last two games? He’s been pretty good offensively and has gotten somewhat better on defense – something special could be unfolding with Mr. LouWill this season, so it sucks to hear about his broken jaw.
