I think people forget that “it’s still your blog” when they do link posts and don’t give their readers a reason to go visit the other site, or a reason to come back after they have. Also, I want to make sure I use very good anchor text when I give links to other blogs so it helps their seach juice.

Actually writing out your link post is nice as well. I find myself doing the “quick link” post waaaaaaaaaay too often.
