Could be. But an organization that knows what it wants, goes and gets it (if available), irrespective of outside influence. This interim time of pause and waffling over an array of 'the unaccomplished' or 'yesterday's news' does nothing to inspire confidence. Stefanski needs to pull a rabbit from his hat - soon.

Could also be the same thing that happens with restricted free agents. One team waiting for another to set the price.

Dannie, Good list. Interesting names. None jump out as "the one" to me but perhaps 1 of them has the secret formula, the touch required to build & lead. Stefanski may be wringing his hands over whether or not to give Johnson the keys to the car - - just a surmise. It is curious that 2 organizations in need of forward movement are interviewing common candidates and dragging their respective feet. A game of chicken? "You pick the first loser, we'll take the 'better' one."

Also have to wonder what Sacramento is waiting for as well. I thought Eddie Jordan was their #1 guy no question. Why haven't they made an offer?

John Kuester

Brendan Malone (been around some winnners)

Hank Egan

Patrick Ewing

Brian Shaw (not likely)

Adrian Dantley

Mike Dunlap (won two division II championships)

Tim Grgurich

Dannie, Yep. We're on same page. It seems the only good reason for delay would be a direct aim at a bench coach of 1 of the remaining 4 teams. Otherwise, make your pick and get on with it. Lot of work to do, both off- and on-court, in developing a strong '09-'10 squad.

JJG - No idea what is going on. I wish the coach was in place as well because I agree, that person needs to talk to players, compile his staff BE INVOLVED IN THE DRAFT PROCESS.

Now that I think of it Stefanski talks about the new coaching being a good player developer, well this is prime time player development right now. Should have a coaching providing some direction based on his own player evaluation and expected style of play.

1 day short of a month since Sixers' season-closing loss in "Battle Of The Bulging Billfolds" versus a crack Florida regiment (that goes by the name of "Magic" and is led by a hyperkinetic, hissing, paunchy spitfire of a commander) at the Wachovia Bank Building, and yet no decision on a head coach replacement for the resigned/"granted permanent leave" Gen. Anthony Dileo. Rome wasn't built in a day, but an October- ready team takes some time and a meeting of the minds, whomever their regulators. In conclusion: it's late early this year.
