That's the thing its not unfortunately for ME - it's for most sports fans and people in general that actually want to see and talk about sports, not cheaters, liars, drugs and everything negative that goes with it all.

The NBA does have a channel just like the NFL network with the same inherent problem - it's not part of the basic package so your speculation about viewership is a bit misguided.

And the purpose of Pete's post was really to bring to the forefront an overlooked and unique aspect the NBA has right now that no other sport does. Which is why even MORE people should be watching. Not to mention it's the one sport that has been relatively quiet as far as problems with player conduct.

Unfortunately for you ESPN et. al. are going to report on what is going to grab viewers. Another unfortunate fact is that many non-sports enthusiasts are going to be interested in the Clemens saga, making it the natural headliner.

perhaps an NBA/basketball channel would pacify the pure basketball fans like yourself. It's not a bad concept, I think the NBA has the money to do it, but i'm not sure if they'd have the viewership, which in and of itself is probably the reason why the Nuggs game wasn't televised.

and... why Pete, is trying to convince people that the NBA still has its luster.
